The Principal Infrastructure Engineer - Product Owner will be responsible for supporting the current traditional Linux based 'on premises' VMware environment; with the emphasis and focus to migrate these existing systems to more of an 'Infrastructure as Code' (IaC) environment in efforts to modernize. The ideal candidate performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition to translate to customer requirements into hardware and software designs. You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing and improving the platform's over-arching design; looking for improvement in primarily in the O/S, COTS stack. You will assist engineers with DevOps/ IaC tool usage and issues, leveraging experience, industry standards and best practices. You will deploy applications and infrastructure on RedHat/VMware/Openshift environments. You will configure application deployments using Jenkins and ansible playbooks. You will troubleshoot application installation and runtime issues in linux VMs and docker/podman pods. You will document progress and discrepancies in Jira and Confluence. You will assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool such as Terraform/VMWare or other related toolsets. You will create installation checklists from documentation to streamline installation workflow. You need the ability to obtain Comp TIA Security + (CISSP) Certification within 90 days. Experience with Automation frameworks such as Chef/Ansible and experience with code repository systems such as ClearCase/Bit Bucket is also required.
