About the position

As a Principal IT Analyst at Prime Therapeutics, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, evaluating, and designing or redesigning business, IT, or operational processes. Utilizing scientific approaches such as Critical Thinking, Lean Management, ITIL, Design Thinking, and structured systems analysis and design, you will ensure that the processes align with the organization's goals and enhance operational efficiency. This position requires a hands-on approach, where you will define user stories and acceptance criteria, assist with problem-solving, conduct root cause analysis, and provide coaching to junior IT analysts. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that all requirements and acceptance criteria meet the business needs effectively. In this role, you will also be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders, including business sponsors, IT leadership, subject matter experts, and architects, to produce sound architectural solutions for projects. You will lead the creation of conceptual and logical specifications across all layers of solutions, which include people, processes, technology, and information. Your ability to identify and evaluate both external and internal business needs will be essential in determining the necessary business changes and their impact on business capabilities. You will be expected to drive usability and quality in the software developed within your area, manage implementations, and prioritize enhancements. Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across partner teams will be key to addressing concerns and removing roadblocks that may hinder project progress. Additionally, you will analyze issues with a focus on identifying root causes and prevention strategies, helping the team arrive at innovative solutions to complex problems. This position is designed for someone who is proactive, technically proficient, and possesses a mastery of QA methodologies and problem-solving techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, evaluate, and design/redesign business, IT, or operational processes using scientific approaches.
  • Provide leadership to junior IT Analysts throughout the software development cycle.
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria for software development.
  • Assist with problem-solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Coach junior IT analysts to ensure requirements meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to produce sound architectural solutions on projects.
  • Lead the creation of conceptual and logical specifications for solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate business needs to determine required changes.
  • Drive usability and quality of software developed within the area.
  • Manage implementations and prioritize enhancements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience in IT.
  • Minimum of 3+ years delivering requirements and testing for high-quality, secure software.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to execute strategies for complex business problems.
  • Experience in leading prototyping of potential solutions.
  • Proficient in performing implementation reviews and resolving technical challenges.
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on ensuring successful implementations.
  • Technically proficient and hands-on with mastery of QA methodology and problem-solving tools.
  • Experience applying Design Thinking techniques.
  • Strong critical thinking and creativity skills.
  • Experience in healthcare, PBM, or insurance industries.
  • Experience working with front-end and back-end systems, including claims, billing, or EHR systems.
