About the position

As a Principal IT Business Analyst on the Product DNA Execution team at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of a multi-year Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) enterprise IT program. This position focuses on enhancing business capabilities related to Regulatory, Design & Engineering, Supplier, or Operations processes. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to design and implement technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture and regulatory standards, ultimately driving efficiencies and adding value to the organization.

Responsibilities

• Advise Business Operating Unit / Functions & Business Workstream Leads on PLM process design.
• Lead all BA activities related to functional requirements, solution design, process creation, technical documentation, and IT compliance for all Program Waves in their PLM Capability/Process area.
• Play a key role in validation activities and usability pilots.
• Engage with business leaders to understand strategies and product data-driven changes that improve efficiencies.
• Evaluate current business processes and identify complex business problems, translating needs into solutions within Medtronic's PTC Windchill PLM solution.
• Partner with IT teams to design technology solutions that comply with regulations and IT processes.
• Provide technical expertise for system functional specifications and deploy systems in a cost-effective manner.
• Advise business team members on business process options.
• Oversee cross-functional teams to address business/systems issues or projects.
• Interact with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels.
• Manage stakeholders' expectations and provide briefings to senior leaders.
• Facilitate discussions to negotiate and reach agreements to solve business and technical challenges.
• Facilitate interviews to gather requirements and document current processes.
• Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Manager, business stakeholders, and IT Product Owners to develop business requirements.
• Translate and document business requirements into Functional Specifications.
• Drive the business agenda during the solution delivery process.
• Establish a backlog of user stories and specify the 'WHO, WHAT, WHY' as well as Acceptance Criteria.
• Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are recorded.
• Oversee testing and defect management process for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Coordinate demos, conference room pilots, and testing.
• Support training content creation.
• Help build institutional solution knowledge for long-term business understanding and support.
• Work with Global Process Lead to update QMS documents per process changes.
• Work with Validation Lead to author/update validation documents in conformance with Medtronic System Compliance Methodology.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience, OR an advanced degree and 5+ years of experience.
• Strong industry/business knowledge and PLM solution implementation experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Multiple complete Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementations.
• Experience configuring PLM applications (Windchill experience preferred).
• Proven experience in leading the shaping of business requirements and designing solutions.
• Ability to create technical specifications to document business requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical and configuration issues within PLM applications.
• Solid experience with activities throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements management and configuration control.
• Experience with master data management.
• 5+ years of professional experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of pre/post market surveillance and real-world evidence.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of EU MDR requirements.
