About the position

The Principal IT Program Manager at PG&E Corporation will oversee the Elevate Program Plan, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and managing complex IT projects within the GIS Center of Excellence. This role requires a strategic thinker who is execution-oriented, highly organized, and capable of leading cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will manage budgets, schedules, and resources while applying Lean practices and engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large GIS programs that may exceed $100M annually
  • Manage schedule planning, budget planning, vendor management, and resource planning efforts
  • Apply critical thinking to address program challenges and achieve program goals
  • Develop reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate program status and health
  • Anticipate program challenges and implement innovative solutions
  • Represent the program as a subject matter expert
  • Provide General Rate Case (GRC) data request response support
  • Develop materials and status updates for stakeholders, management, and Senior Leadership up to C suite and Board of Directors
  • Plan Officer-level engagement events and other significant events
  • Participate in benchmarking efforts to learn and share best practices
  • Coach and mentor less experienced co-workers
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new team members
  • Lead or participate in Enterprise Project/Program Governance requirements
  • Manage major cross-functional special assignments
  • Guide teams on continuous improvement journeys
  • Develop resilient, talented teams focused on alignment between strategy, planning, and execution
  • Assess project performance and implement necessary changes
  • Provide direction and leadership to various project roles
  • Forecast project resources, materials, and costs accurately
  • Monitor critical project milestones and resolve schedule issues
  • Exercise independent judgment in significant matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 years job-related experience or equivalent
  • 10+ years Esri GIS Technology experience
  • Advanced Proficiency in ArcGIS 9.x or later
  • 5+ years Electric and/or Gas Utility experience
  • 10+ years IT Project/Program Management experience
  • Experience in leading utility implementation of Esri GIS
  • Esri GIS implementation for 2,000+ users
  • Enterprise level deployments of GIS
  • 3+ years managing budgets exceeding $100M
  • History of interfacing with/presenting to C suite
  • Ability to express complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences
  • Both Commercial Cloud and on-premise deployment experience
  • Complex cross-functional deployment experience with strong dependencies on other major programs
  • Direct leadership experience (5+ direct reports)
  • Master's degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
