About the position

The position at Neurocrine Biosciences involves leading cross-functional teams to address business systems needs and issues, particularly in the context of automated systems. The role requires planning and directing the analysis of complex business problems, providing technical leadership, and ensuring successful implementation of data management tools in compliance with regulatory requirements. The individual will also be responsible for consultation with users, managing data from multiple sources, and driving process improvements across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams in supporting application implementation, administration, and support.
  • Partner with department leadership to ensure successful implementation of data management/interface tools.
  • Provide technical support for managing data from multiple sources and databases for regulatory submissions.
  • Interact with Clinical and Regulatory departments on electronic submission issues.
  • Evaluate and implement technologies to improve system quality across departments.
  • Consult with department representatives to determine requirements for data access, reports, and interfaces.
  • Drive process improvements and develop processes for successful implementation of key software systems.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in computer science, IT, or similar field and 8+ years of IT experience in a pharmaceutical company with exposure to FDA regulations preferred.
  • Experience implementing and supporting business applications, including Microsoft applications, preferred.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, JAVA, Visual Basic, MS Access, MS Project, IIS, HTML, XML, JavaScript, and Internet Database Programming.
  • Experience supporting validated applications for regulatory purposes in a biotech/pharmaceutical company preferred.
  • Master's degree in computer science, IT, or similar field and 6+ years of similar experience noted above is acceptable.
  • PMP certification or working towards certification is highly desired.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines with high accuracy and efficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with web application technology and electronic document management systems.
  • Exposure to database technologies and data warehousing/data mining.
