About the position

The Principal IT Project Manager at Neurocrine Biosciences is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to address business systems needs and issues. This role involves planning and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems, providing technical leadership, and ensuring successful implementation of data management tools. The position requires collaboration with various departments to improve processes and efficiency, particularly in the context of regulatory and validation requirements for clinical and regulatory data management projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams in supporting application implementation, administration, and support.
  • Partner with department leadership to ensure successful implementation of data management/interface tools.
  • Provide technical support for managing data from multiple sources and databases for regulatory submissions.
  • Interact with Clinical and Regulatory departments on electronic submission issues.
  • Evaluate and implement additional technologies to improve system quality across departments.
  • Consult with department representatives to determine requirements for data access, reports, and interfaces.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiency for key software systems.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in computer science, IT, or similar field and 8+ years of IT experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical company with FDA regulations exposure.
  • Experience implementing and supporting business applications, including Microsoft applications.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, JAVA, Visual Basic, MS Access, MS Project, IIS, HTML, XML, JavaScript, and VBScript.
  • Experience supporting validated applications for regulatory purposes in a biotech/pharmaceutical company.
  • PMP certification or working towards certification is highly desired.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science, IT, or similar field and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with web application technology and electronic document management systems.
  • Knowledge of best practices in functional disciplines and familiarity with related business concepts.
