About the position

We are seeking a Principal Java Software Developer with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program that provides Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems. This role is based in a DevOps framework and involves participating in and/or directing major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving innovation and enhancement through software programming initiatives, utilizing technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate, and Angular. In this position, you will develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using tools like Junit and Katalon. You will also be tasked with developing, prototyping, and deploying solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions, leveraging Infrastructure platform services. Close coordination with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters is essential to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to meet customer use cases. You will analyze infrastructure needs driven by developed software through proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing to effectively support customer mission needs. The role requires adherence to the Agile software development lifecycle, following Program SAFe practices, and utilizing industry-leading DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting. Documentation and performance of systems software development, including the deployment of build artifacts across different environments, leveraging GitFlow constructs, is also a key responsibility. Effective communication of key project data to team members is crucial for building team cohesion and effectiveness. You will leverage the Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence, to track activities and apply best practices and standard operating procedures to create innovative solutions that meet the technical needs of customers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement using Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate, and Angular.
• Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon.
• Develop, prototype, and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services.
• Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.

Requirements

• Proficient with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and development practices.
• In-depth experience using Java, JavaScript, and Angular.
• In-depth experience with the software development lifecycle and delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices.
• In-depth experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit.
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Python and Bash.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
• Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (e.g., S3, RDS, EFS).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Well versed with using version control systems.
• Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems.
• Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 12 or more years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10 or more years of prior relevant experience.
• Candidate must have a TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in AWS Data management services (Elastic Map Reduce, Lambda, Kinesis).
• Experience with SAFe development practices.
