We are seeking a Principal Java Software Developer with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program that provides Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems. This role is based in a DevOps framework and involves participating in and/or directing major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development processes and be able to innovate and enhance existing systems using a variety of programming languages and tools. In this position, you will participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, utilizing technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate, and Angular. You will be responsible for developing and directing software system validation and testing methods using tools like Junit and Katalon. Additionally, you will develop and integrate custom software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies and prototype solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions, utilizing Infrastructure platform services. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases. You will analyze infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs and support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices. Your expertise in industry-leading DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting will be essential in documenting and performing systems software development, including the deployment of build artifacts across different environments while leveraging GitFlow constructs. Effective communication of key project data to team members will be crucial in building team cohesion and effectiveness, as well as leveraging the Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities and identify best practices and standard operating procedures. Ultimately, you will create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
