About the position

This position will work a 'Panama Schedule' for 24/7 shift coverage, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, each team works the same shift (day) for 28 days then switches to the other shift (night) for the next 28 days. Responsibilities

  • Support a Raytheon program in a classified environment as a Principal Linux System Administrator.
  • Monitor the Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) hosting equipment and services consisting of computers (server), networks, storage, and backup & archive.
  • Monitor system dashboards for the status of services.
  • Create Incidents in the Incident Management system.
  • Assign Incidents to the appropriate Tier-2/Tier-3 assignment groups.
  • Assist with troubleshooting services to restore Full Mission Capability.
  • Coordinate with other service providers when incidents span system boundaries.
  • Investigate and rectify procedural discrepancies.
  • Identify areas of process improvement.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with poly security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.
  • Experience in Linux.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with virtual / cloud computing technologies such as Citrix, VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with Windows.
  • Experience with storage products from Oracle, EMC, Dell, Isilon, NetApp, DDN.
  • Experience in Networking.
