About the position

The Principal System Administrator role at Raytheon Technologies involves providing IT systems administration in a mixed environment of Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux. This position requires collaboration with diverse teams to support critical programs involving classified information systems. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and maintain secure environments across various classified programs, ensuring operational excellence and security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Utilize troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and OS integration.
• Install and configure software applications as requested by end users.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes.
• Develop solutions and documentation for a variety of technical problems.
• Work in a fast-paced technological environment, supporting operational systems that are 24x7.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or 9 years of direct experience without a degree.
• Must have a current and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance prior to start date.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, or networking administration.

Nice-to-haves

• VMware experience is highly desired.
• An active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or prior SCI/program eligibility.
• Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF.
• In-depth working experience in Windows Server.
• Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
• Experience using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
• Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SMECP, and/or Exchange.
• High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
• Scripting experience.
