About the position

The Principal Linux System Administrator will support a Raytheon program in a classified environment, focusing on monitoring and maintaining the Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) hosting equipment and services. This role is critical in ensuring the operational integrity of systems, networks, and storage in a fast-paced Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. The position requires a strong technical background in Linux and networking, along with the ability to troubleshoot and coordinate incident responses effectively.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system dashboards for the status of services.
• Create incidents in the Incident Management system.
• Assign incidents to appropriate Tier-2/Tier-3 assignment groups.
• Assist with troubleshooting services to restore Full Mission Capability.
• Coordinate with other service providers when incidents span system boundaries.
• Investigate and rectify procedural discrepancies.
• Identify areas of process improvement.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and 3 years of experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with poly security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.
• Must have experience in Linux.
• Must have networking experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with virtual/cloud computing technologies such as Citrix, VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Windows.
• Experience with storage products from Oracle, EMC, Dell, Isilon, NetApp, DDN.
