About the position

The Principal System Administrator at Raytheon Technologies plays a crucial role in supporting classified information systems by developing, implementing, and maintaining secure and cost-efficient IT environments. This position requires collaboration with diverse teams to address complex IT infrastructure challenges, ensuring that systems are secure and operationally effective.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Redhat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including hardware and OS integration.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • Develop solutions and documentation for a variety of technical problems.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or a master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance or prior SCI/program eligibility prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have Linux systems administration experience.
  • Experience with Windows, VMWare vCenter, vSphere, VDI, and ESX virtual computing methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Basic Windows experience desired.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification.
  • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions, specifically Net App.
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
