As a Principal Machine Learning Applications Engineer at Oracle, you will play a crucial role in building and deploying scalable, production-ready machine learning systems. This position requires proficiency in distributed systems, containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and software engineers, to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that address complex business challenges. Your expertise will be particularly valuable in the development of Conversational AI solutions and other advanced machine learning techniques, enhancing user experiences with AI, ML, and Generative AI capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed design specifications and writing elegant code. You will lead the incubation of new initiatives, architect scalable solutions, and make strategic technology choices to deliver AI/ML capabilities for Oracle's customers. Your work will involve developing high-quality, efficient software solutions that integrate generative AI capabilities, as well as designing, developing, testing, and deploying machine learning models, including large language models. You will also build pipelines for both batch and real-time use cases, leveraging third-party and in-house ML tools and the OCI platform to create reusable, high-performance machine learning systems with low-latency serving and reliable means to update and retrain models. Collaboration is key in this position; you will work closely with product managers, operations, and data scientists to identify opportunities for business impact, prioritize requirements for machine learning systems and data pipelines, and drive engineering decisions. You will communicate regularly with project teams to provide updates on development progress and ensure the quality of work through adherence to development standards and QA procedures. Additionally, you will focus on improving technical solutions and processes through iterative discovery and feedback loops, while also attracting, growing, and developing a team of builders and creators.
