About the position

The Principal Mechanical Integration Engineer at Jabil will lead mechanical design functions for data center liquid cooling systems, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) in customer-facing roles. This position involves collaboration with client engineering teams, overseeing the mechanical systems essential for Data Center Infrastructure, Energy Storage Systems, and HVAC functionalities. The role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes for thermal components and thermal design and analysis, ensuring operational excellence and reliability in product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design functions for data center liquid cooling systems.
  • Collaborate with client engineering teams to assist in conceptual designs.
  • Develop specifications and select key components for mechanical systems.
  • Conduct stress and flow analysis to ensure piping systems withstand operational conditions.
  • Evaluate thermal data to confirm product conformance to thermo-mechanical requirements.
  • Optimize cooling system designs to meet performance requirements while minimizing costs.
  • Prepare technical specifications for piping components and systems.
  • Assist in the analysis, design, and implementation of mechanical systems in Data Center Infrastructure and HVAC.
  • Evaluate mechanical system operations and recommend modifications.
  • Review CAD/Technical Data Packages to validate mechanical design requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical system integration.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and integration strategy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in engineering or higher.
  • Experience in WindChill and DevOps.
  • Familiarity with industry standards related to Energy Storage Systems and Data Center Infrastructure.
