About the position

The Principal Network Architect at Coherent Corp is responsible for assessing the current IT environment and developing a strategic roadmap for network and infra-security architecture. This role involves leading the design and implementation of solutions architecture, providing thought leadership on new technologies, and ensuring alignment with business priorities. The architect will work collaboratively with other solution architects and stakeholders to create scalable and adaptable architectural solutions, while also establishing governing principles for network architecture and design.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current IT environment and develop a future state IT architecture.
• Build a long-term strategic roadmap for network and infra-security architecture.
• Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of solutions architecture.
• Provide thought leadership on new technologies and drive proof-of-concepts.
• Partner with subject-matter experts to design and optimize network and cybersecurity solutions.
• Design high-availability, high-performing, and scalable network services.
• Establish governing principles for network architecture and design.
• Analyze the network environment to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions.
• Create short and long-term storage roadmaps based on organizational requirements.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience in the IT field.
• 10+ years in Network and Cybersecurity Architecture development and management.
• 5+ years' project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• MS/MBA/Other Advanced degree is preferred.
• Expert level knowledge on Networking concepts, architecture, components, protocols, technologies, and methods.
• Expert knowledge in IT Architecture techniques including current state analysis and roadmap development.
• Demonstrated ability to apply technologies and methods to develop effective technical solutions.
• Global IT Leadership experience with exposure to global operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
