About the position

The Principal Network Architect (Cloud Architect) at WhirlWind Technologies, LLC is responsible for providing high-level network architecture and design services. This role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and low-latency networking solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals. The architect will develop architectural products, advise on technological purchases, and set standards for database structures, contributing to the overall success of the company's mission to enhance government services and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff.
• Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines in accordance with the strategy and goals of the organization.
• Develops strategy of system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
• Advises on selection of technological purchases regarding processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.
• Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization (SQL, ORACLE, SYBASE, etc.).
• Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management.
• Tracks current plans.
• Monitors and reviews the success of systems and ensures efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Minimum BS/BA degree in related field (or equivalent certification, or years of experience)
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
• Must have at least one certification from the list: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Cloud Architecture and Design, Management Architecture and Design, DNS and LDAP Architecture and Design, Active Directory Architecture and Design.
