About the position

DISH, an EchoStar company, is seeking a Principal Network Automation Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of network systems essential for the success of our 5G network. This position is part of our Wireless Technology organization, which is at the forefront of transforming connectivity for the future. The selected candidate will be responsible for evaluating, testing, and deploying foundational network elements for a nationwide 5G buildout. This role requires advanced technical leadership, particularly in upgrading mission-critical devices and services. The Principal Network Engineer will communicate engineering solutions through detailed diagrams and implement Agile methodology for software development. The role also involves architecting and developing software automation tools, guiding teams on best software development practices, and collaborating with various teams to innovate and drive new features forward. This position is crucial for ensuring that DISH's 5G network is built on a solid foundation, adaptable to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our rapidly changing society, economy, and technology landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of network systems for 5G.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy foundational network elements for nationwide 5G buildout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in large enterprise or carrier environments.
  • Professional working certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Public cloud certifications like advanced working, cloud work engineer, or equivalent are beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, JavaScript, BPA, NSO, REST, Bash.
  • Experience with server virtualization (VMWare, OpenStack).
