About the position

The Principal or Sr. Principal Antenna Test Software Engineer will play a crucial role in Northrop Grumman's Test Engineering Team, focusing on the development and architecture of test software related to phased array testing. This position involves leading software development teams, defining software requirements, and collaborating with design engineering to enhance hardware and testing processes. The role emphasizes maintaining high standards of cost, schedule, and quality while contributing to innovative radar systems that impact lives globally.

Responsibilities

  • Test software architecture and development related to phased array testing
  • Test software architecture and development for automating test processes and data analysis
  • Lead test software development teams across multiple software projects
  • Define software requirements based on product test requirements
  • Develop test plans and lead software integration efforts
  • Support production test and lead troubleshooting efforts
  • Collaborate with design engineering for hardware and test improvements
  • Maintain sensitivity to cost, schedule and quality as well as Northrop Grumman policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline with 5 Years of relevant experience; 3 Years with Masters (for Principal)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline with 9 Years of relevant experience; 7 Years with Masters (for Sr. Principal)
  • Professional software development experience using languages such as C++, Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • Professional software architecture experience
  • Professional leadership experience leading software teams through software development projects
  • Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.
  • Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice-to-haves

  • Software development experience with RF and antenna systems
  • Test software development experience in a nearfield antenna range
  • RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience
  • Familiarity with RF and antenna theory
