About the position

The Principal Oracle Cloud HCM Developer at Providence Health & Services plays a crucial role in the transformation of the healthcare industry by providing technical development services throughout the System Development Life-cycle (SDLC). This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities including requirements gathering, design specification, code development, unit testing, integration testing, acceptance testing, and implementation support. The Principal Developer will be responsible for creating application customizations and enhancements, developing integrations and interfaces, managing conversions, and generating reports and automated workflows. This role requires a deep understanding of functional business processes in areas such as Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and Supply Chain, as well as expertise in IT architectures, including cloud technologies, application technology, database management, networking, and security. As a member of the Enterprise Business Applications team, the Principal Developer will have the opportunity to optimize and enhance the ERP and time-tracking systems that support over 122,000 employees across Providence's extensive network of hospitals and clinics. The position is hybrid/remote, allowing for flexibility in work location, with potential travel requirements of up to 10% of the work schedule. The ideal candidate will reside in key locations such as Renton/Seattle, WA, Portland/Beaverton, OR, or Irvine, CA. This role is not only about technical skills but also about making a significant impact on the lives of clinical caregivers and the communities they serve, aligning with Providence's mission of caring for everyone, especially the most vulnerable. The Principal Developer will also be expected to provide end-user support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical problems related to Oracle HCM Cloud. They will need to stay updated with Oracle HCM Cloud product releases, new features, and industry best practices to recommend enhancements and optimize system performance. This position is integral to ensuring that the technology solutions provided by Providence are effective, efficient, and aligned with the organization's goals and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical development services throughout the System Development Life-cycle (SDLC).
  • Gather requirements and create design specifications for application customizations and enhancements.
  • Develop code and perform unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Support implementation of technical solutions and provide ongoing support.
  • Create integrations and interfaces, manage conversions, and generate reports.
  • Develop automated workflows and business/technical processes.
  • Possess functional business process knowledge in Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and Supply Chain.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshoot technical issues related to Oracle HCM Cloud.
  • Stay updated with Oracle HCM Cloud product releases and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or Information Services.
  • Ten or more years of experience as a systems analyst developer, including at least three years supporting Oracle HCM modules.
  • Strong experience with Oracle HCM Cloud Tech skills including Data Loader, Integrations, Extensions, and Fast Formulas.
  • Experience with Middleware technologies, preferably OIC, and integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, XML, JavaScript, and Web Services.
  • Ability to support Oracle HCM Cloud product releases and recommend enhancements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Information Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience supporting Oracle Cloud/e-business HCM, Payroll, Supply Chain, and/or Finance.
  • Experience in Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) development.
  • Experience in customization of Redwood pages.
  • Experience in API development and management.
