About the position

We are seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer with a strong background in CI/CD frameworks, security, and programming. This role will lead initiatives to optimize pipelines, integrate security at every stage, and mentor engineering teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both on-prem and cloud infrastructure, containerization, and driving large-scale CI/CD automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a scalable CI framework to enhance automation and standardize CI/CD processes across engineering teams.
  • Integrate security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline, automating vulnerability testing and ensuring compliance.
  • Lead the creation of a unified DevOps framework (CI/CD, Configuration Management, SCM) to enable secure, efficient development workflows.
  • Drive initiatives to improve infrastructure efficiency, focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance (cloud/on-prem).
  • Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation for systems, processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and propose enhancements to improve workflows, tooling, and system architecture.
  • Foster a DevOps culture focused on collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on CI/CD, security.
  • Expert-level knowledge in programming, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Go or C/C++.
  • Proven experience in DevSecOps, integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring compliance.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for managing pipelines and automating processes.
  • Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Terraform) and Infrastructure as Code for provisioning scalable infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for system health and performance.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers while driving adoption of best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expertise in managing complex CI/CD workflows at scale with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of security best practices for CI/CD pipelines, ensuring vulnerabilities are minimized and compliance is maintained.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize both cloud-based and on-prem infrastructures for scalability and security.
  • Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with product, security, and engineering teams.
