About the position

The Principal Technical Product Manager (PMT) for Customer Experience at Amazon Stores Ads Monetization is a pivotal role that focuses on enhancing the shopping experience for millions of customers who visit Amazon daily. This position is part of a newly established organization dedicated to creating delightful customer experiences while driving revenue through innovative advertising solutions. The PMT will lead initiatives aimed at improving how customers discover advertised products across Amazon's vast selection, ensuring that the advertising experience is cohesive and enjoyable. In this role, the PMT will be responsible for proposing and implementing new projects, as well as recommending system improvements. This often involves navigating complex discussions and making smart trade-offs to resolve contentious issues. The PMT will redefine the advertising customer experience across various pages within Amazon Stores, setting clear, measurable customer experience (CX) quality metrics and goals based on data-driven insights. The PMT will create, prioritize, communicate, manage, and execute roadmaps and project plans, bringing innovative ideas to the table to achieve customer objectives. This role requires close collaboration with designers, economists, senior engineers, and team leaders to invent new experiences that resonate with both customers and advertisers. The PMT will also interface with a diverse customer base to gather requirements and understand priorities, ensuring that the advertising experience meets the needs of all stakeholders involved.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and implement new projects or recommend system improvements, driving resolution to debated topics through trade-offs or inventive solutions.
  • Redefine the advertising customer experience across pages within Amazon Stores.
  • Set clear, measurable CX-quality metrics and goals in a data-driven way.
  • Create, prioritize, communicate, manage, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments.
  • Bring innovative ideas to find better ways of accomplishing customer objectives.
  • Report progress and influence decisions and policy with executive leadership.
  • Work closely with designers, economists, senior engineers, and team leaders to invent new experiences that customers and advertisers love.
  • Interface with a diverse customer base to understand requirements, priorities, and processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with feature delivery and trade-offs of a product.
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.
  • Master's degree, preferably an MBA or in a science or engineering field.
  • Experience defining the analytics necessary to drive data-driven decisions at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools.
  • Experience representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
