About the position

The Amazon Stores Ads Monetization team is on a mission to enhance the shopping experience for customers by enabling them to discover products they love from brand owners around the world. As a Principal Technical Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in evolving this experience by leading initiatives that create delightful interactions for customers as they navigate through advertised products across Amazon Stores. This position requires a motivated, entrepreneurial, and customer-obsessed individual who can innovate on current and next-generation advertisements that are dynamically tailored and integrated with various Amazon systems. You will be responsible for both existing and new marketplaces, providing cross-functional leadership for product and business strategy. In this role, you will propose and implement new projects or recommend system improvements, often driving resolution to complex topics through smart tradeoffs or inventive solutions. You will redefine the advertising customer experience across pages within Amazon Stores, setting clear, measurable customer experience (CX) quality metrics and goals in a data-driven manner. Your responsibilities will include creating, prioritizing, communicating, managing, and executing roadmaps, project plans, and commitments. You will also be expected to bring innovative ideas to the table to find better ways of accomplishing customer objectives, report progress, and influence decisions and policy with executive leadership. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with designers, policy experts, economists, senior engineers, and team leaders to invent new experiences that resonate with both customers and advertisers. Additionally, you will interface with a diverse customer base to understand their requirements, priorities, and processes, ensuring that the advertising experience across all Amazon Stores meets high-quality performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and implement new projects or recommend system improvements, driving resolution to debated topics through smart tradeoffs or inventive solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters Degree—MBA or in a science or engineering field.
  • Experience defining the analytics necessary to drive data-driven decisions at scale.
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross-functional teams across business units.
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
