About the position

The position is focused on inspiring Customer engineers to innovate through the design, fabrication, commissioning, and startup of advanced process filtration and purification systems. As a Technical Expert, the role involves overseeing component and system design, process integration, and the startup of filtration and separation equipment across various industries, including Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Petrochemical. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert in chemical conversion processes, with a strong background in system design and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Process Filtration Systems and associated equipment.
  • Final Reviewer of Customer Specifications, Pre-Sale Designs & Estimates, Post-Sale Engineering Deliverables.
  • Prepare or review PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, Functional Specifications, Control Narratives, Operating Procedures & Manuals.
  • Participate in pre-sale calls with customers to translate needs into technical requirements and differentiate Mott's technical solutions.
  • Oversee or perform on-site commissioning & startup.
  • Determine customer true technical needs and translate them into project requirements.
  • Prioritize against multiple customers in various markets to support business needs.
  • Understand the needs of key external and internal stakeholders and achieve cross-functional alignment on project plans and timelines.
  • Prioritize pre-sale activities based on both probability and impact.
  • Navigate complex requirements management needs of large EPC or multi-national corporations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Process Engineering in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or similar industry.
  • BS or MS in Engineering or Science.
  • Experience sizing and installing major process equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, filters, and dryers.
  • Familiarity with catalytic reactions and corresponding process design.
  • Knowledge of major refining processes such as catalyst cracking or hydrotreating.
  • Experience with process design software such as Aspen HYSYS and expertise in process design deliverables and requirements: PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, Functional Specifications, HAZOP/PHAs.
  • Familiarity with required Codes & Standards such as API-520, ASME-B31.3, ASME Section VIII.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience attending industry conferences and shows as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Proven track record of on-time delivery of pre-sale estimates and post-sale engineering deliverables.
