Meta is seeking a Principal Product Design Engineer to join our Mixed Reality team. This role is pivotal in tackling the most challenging mechanical design problems we face, designing and developing complex mixed reality headsets that balance ergonomics, performance, aesthetics, and usability while maintaining the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding the engineering team from a technical standpoint, contributing to the overall technical capability of the team. This role will also support forward-looking pathfinding design problems in addition to complex mechanisms, subassemblies, assemblies, and advanced architectures. As a Principal Product Design Engineer, you will engage in the design and development of innovative products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and user experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, content designers, user experience researchers, data scientists, and product growth analysts, to deliver high-quality experiences across markets, platforms, and product surfaces. Your role will also involve overseeing multiple projects, scaling design resources accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met, and setting clear and measurable goals for team members. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in talent development, fostering a thriving culture where engineers grow in their careers and promoting a strong sense of inclusion and belonging within the team.
