As a Principal Product Designer, you will have the chance to shape the future of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, two powerful products that empower organizations across industries with cutting-edge mapping, analysis, and collaboration capabilities. Along with other talented designers and product development teams, you will push the boundaries in crafting and validating designs that extend the reach of GIS content for organizations around the globe. In this role, your designs will reach thousands of users leveraging ArcGIS to change the world. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to iteratively design end-to-end user experiences using participatory techniques. This involves coordinating with stakeholders to clearly identify requirements and specifications for both new and existing features. You will develop personas, user journeys, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes to guide product development. Utilizing methods such as usability testing, surveys, and customer interviews, you will identify enhancements to product designs. Your role will also include creating and presenting comprehensive design solutions that address business, brand, and user requirements through wireframes and prototypes. You will lead by example in advocating for user-centered design principles, staying ahead of product design technologies and trends, conducting peer reviews, gathering usability feedback, and assessing implementations of designs. Effective communication of conceptual ideas, design rationale, and user-centered design processes to developers, engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional team members will be crucial. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment.
