About the position

As a Principal Product Designer I on the Design Systems Team at Spectrum, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and implementing the Kite Design System, which supports various internal product teams. This position involves consulting with users to adapt the system for new use cases and improve its implementation, requiring expertise in design systems and collaboration across multiple teams to deliver cohesive user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Consult with consumers to augment the design system for new use cases.
• Improve system implementation across a growing internal consumer community.
• Apply design discovery and workshop facilitation techniques.
• Conduct direct consumer consultations to gather feedback and insights.
• Create highly-detailed annotated wireframes, user flows, and process flows for consumer applications.
• Plan and facilitate user research and usability tests.
• Deliver against multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Requirements

• 8+ years of digital design experience.
• 6+ years of experience with prototyping and interface design tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, Axure, etc.).
• Bachelor's Degree in Design/Art/HCI/Media/Related Field, or equivalent real-world experience.
• Demonstrated in-depth understanding of platform-specific nomenclature.
• Expert knowledge of user-centered design (UCD) processes from concept to launch.
• Effective time management skills and ability to be self-directed.
• Effective client communication skills and ability to present ideas to various audiences.
