About the position

The Principal Product Designer at Chime will play a crucial role in the Product Design team, focusing on creating innovative products that enhance personal finance accessibility for millions of Americans. This hybrid position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to design impactful solutions, while also providing leadership and design critique within the team. The role emphasizes a human-centered design approach and the ability to balance user needs with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Act as an evangelist for design and advocate for members.
• Partner with cross-functional colleagues to create impactful products.
• Provide design critique and leadership to team members.
• Utilize a human-centered design process to address member problems.
• Contribute to and advance design standards within the team.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in designing consumer-facing digital and mobile experiences.
• Proven track record of building successful consumer mobile applications.
• A portfolio showcasing industry-defining visual and interaction design samples.
• Ability to balance business objectives with user needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a first principles approach to design decisions.
• Growth mindset, optimism, and adaptability.
