About the position

The Principal Product Manager for the Audiobooks Mission at Spotify will lead the development of innovative products and tools for authors and publishers, enhancing their experience on the platform. This role focuses on creating a cohesive audiobooks listener experience while launching new initiatives like Spotify for Authors. The manager will work with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with both consumer and creator needs.

Responsibilities

  • Own vision, goals, strategy, roadmaps, and impact for the Audiobooks Vertical Mission.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, legal, analytics, and product teams to communicate short-term and long-term goals and strategies.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, product analysis, and market insights to inform product strategies.
  • Ensure features align with consumer and author/publisher needs.
  • Prioritize new features based on customer needs, business potential, and technical scalability.
  • Set and track metrics to measure product success and impact on Spotify.
  • Maintain a balance of innovation, technical debt reduction, and support.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in building and shipping consumer-facing software products with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of both consumer- and creator-facing product management.
  • Experience in data-informed decision-making, including A/B testing, user testing, and market analysis.
  • Passion for helping authors and publishers grow their audience and income through audiobooks.
  • Strong storytelling skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Systems thinking and analytical expertise to develop product strategies.
  • Team-first approach with techniques to keep teams motivated and productive.
  • Comfortable working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
