About the position

The Principal Product Manager for Audiobooks at Spotify is responsible for leading the product strategy and roadmap for the Audiobooks Vertical Mission. This role focuses on enhancing the creator experience for authors and publishers while ensuring a cohesive listener experience for consumers. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative features and tools that support the audiobooks business, aiming to set industry standards and improve content performance insights.

Responsibilities

• Own vision, goals, strategy, roadmaps and impact for the Audiobooks Vertical Mission.
• Work closely with engineering, design, legal, analytics, and product teams to align on short-term and long-term goals.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to craft impactful product strategies.
• Ensure features are aligned with consumer and author/publisher needs.
• Prioritize new features based on customer needs, business potential, and technical scalability.
• Set and follow metrics to measure product success and impact on Spotify.
• Maintain a balance of innovation, technical debt reduction, and support.

Requirements

• Significant experience in building and shipping consumer-facing software products.
• Deep understanding of both consumer- and creator-facing product management.
• Experience in data-informed decision making, including A/B testing and user analysis.
• Strong storytelling skills to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
• Ability to apply systems thinking and analytical expertise in product strategy development.
• Team-first approach with techniques to ensure team motivation and productivity.
• Comfortable working with distributed teams across multiple locations.
