About the position

As a Principal Product Manager at SoFi, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of data analytics capabilities, focusing on democratizing data access for all employees. This role involves leveraging AI and data science expertise to address product and business challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, and optimizing data architecture and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and product analytics to drive product vision and strategy.
  • Partner with senior management and analytics teams to define vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and scientists to design and implement data solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior product managers.
  • Translate complex data use cases into clear product requirements and specifications.
  • Optimize internal processes for data management and analytics.
  • Drive adoption of data products through training and documentation.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and conduct buy vs. build analysis.
  • Represent the company's data capabilities to external partners.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management leadership roles, preferably in data solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of data technologies, analytics, and industry trends.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and business growth through data products.
  • Experience managing and developing product teams.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Track record of fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement in data products.
  • Experience in setting and tracking key performance indicators for data products.
  • Deep understanding of the data industry, including trends and best practices.

  • Experience with specific data tools and modern data stack technologies.
  • Domain expertise in finance or technology industries.
