About the position

As a Principal Product Manager for the Kaiser Permanente IT Laboratory Portfolio, you will lead product management efforts for laboratory technology, focusing on the EPIC Beaker application. This role encompasses defining product strategy, developing roadmaps, engaging stakeholders, managing vendors, and overseeing strategic programs. You will be involved in the software development lifecycle, ensuring product enhancements are based on validated learnings and supporting product adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of multiple work streams by identifying customer and operational needs and developing new procedures and policies.
  • Define and drive product strategy and vision, developing product roadmaps from ideation to launch for complex or high impact products.
  • Serve as an expert facilitator and consultant for the product team and diverse stakeholder groups throughout the product management life cycle.
  • Lead and drive internal and external discovery for new and existing products, identifying business needs and best marketplace innovations.
  • Oversee the tracking of key performance indicators by defining and tracking KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Lead and oversee product team members to solve user problems for complex or high impact issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Social Science, or related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in product management, project management, IT consulting, product development or support, business/system analysis, or a directly related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience working in product management, including product discovery and developing short-term and long-term product strategies.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience developing and validating business cases, including identifying value of investment projects.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience working with agile teams, including familiarity with scrum ceremonies and agile best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with laboratory applications such as Cerner Millennium, Wellsky Bloodbank, and Middleware Solutions.
  • Advanced degrees in relevant fields.
