About the position

The Principal Product Manager for IT New Product Introduction (NPI) at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for overseeing the launch of new cybersecurity products. This role involves managing the NPI process from start to finish, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure efficient product introduction, and driving process improvements to meet market needs and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for cybersecurity products.
  • Collaborate with Product Line Leaders and IT teams to gather and analyze requirements for new products.
  • Assess product intake submissions and prioritize projects based on business value and market demand.
  • Develop and maintain detailed NPI roadmaps outlining timelines and deliverables for product launches.
  • Partner with IT teams to enable and integrate systems related to CPQ, Order Management & Fulfillment, Licensing, and Product Activation.
  • Ensure IT systems and processes support successful product launches.
  • Oversee project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks or issues.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-market for new products.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on project status and outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for NPI-related communications within the IT department and with external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between Product teams, IT, and other relevant parties.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and ensure new products align with market needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement solutions to optimize the NPI process.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to drive continuous improvement in NPI practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management or project management, focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI) in the cybersecurity industry or related technology field.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving IT systems integration and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity products, including hardware, software, and cloud/SaaS solutions.
  • Experience with IT systems such as CPQ, Order Management & Fulfillment, Licensing, and Product Activation.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
