About the position

The Principal Product Manager for Multicloud Database at Oracle is responsible for overseeing the product management aspects of high availability, data protection, and scalability for Oracle Database services across multiple cloud platforms. This role involves collaborating with software developers and product managers to enhance Oracle's next-generation high availability capabilities, ensuring that products meet customer expectations and maintain market leadership. The position requires a blend of inbound and outbound product management responsibilities, including customer engagement, product strategy development, and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and validate input related to high availability, data protection, and customer usage patterns from various stakeholders.
  • Drive the development and launch of Oracle systems and cloud services that integrate high-performance software with optimized hardware and cloud configurations.
  • Develop collateral such as technical and business white papers, success stories, data sheets, brochures, and product presentations for Oracle's HA technology.
  • Maintain deep relationships with key customers and ensure their continued success with Oracle's products.
  • Evangelize Oracle's availability and data protection features by presenting at trade shows, customer sites, and industry conferences.

Requirements

  • BS / MS in Computer Science or related technical degree required; MBA desirable.
  • Excellent written, communication/presentation, analytical, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Six or more years of engineering/product management experience, preferably in enterprise computing, with familiarity in cloud and highly available databases.
  • A balanced mix of applications and database administration skills, along with relevant cloud experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with various internal groups and external customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in dealing with a broad spectrum of IT audiences, from CTO/CIO to database and systems administrators.
  • Awareness of trends and opportunities in enterprise computing that potentially influence Oracle's business.
