About the position

This person will lead the product management for 'Product (Omni Item and Vendors) Merchandising Sub Pillar' and report directly to the Director of Product Management. She/he will define the product vision and roadmap for 'Product' sub pillar to achieve the business KPIs. She/he will be responsible for collecting and interpreting user research and data, conceiving innovative products, creating a robust product roadmap, and managing the product lifecycle. The right candidate will be a strategic and ambitious visionary with the proven ability to deliver products that create impact and deliver exceptional value to our associates, vendors partners who are deeply focused in serving our guest shopping omni channel. This leader should be highly motivated to succeed and influence his/her team and stakeholders to do so, in an approachable manner, that engenders trust and confidence at all levels across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the Vendor and Omni Item onboarding and maintenance experiences and production of rich quality master data across merchandising, supply chain, marketing and finance.
  • Drive value to Albertson's Enterprise and Customers shopping omni channels.
  • Take the product to the market for successful adaptation, learn feedback and improve.
  • Challenge the status quo and push boundaries across process and technology.
  • Foster healthy stakeholder relationships and challenge to find viable solutions.
  • Drive cross functional alignments for the Product area, establishing product vision and execution of roadmap.
  • Lead a team of Product Management talent to create a cohesive strategy for transformation and modernization.
  • Own product backlog and prioritization, managing expectations, dependencies, and resolve blockers.
  • Identify challenges and root causes, then hypothesize for continuous process and product improvements.
  • Spend 25% in product strategy definition, 50% in product execution, and 25% in talent management.

Requirements

  • Strong customer obsession, strategic mindset, critical thinking, bias for action, data savvy, visual storytelling.
  • Technical proficiency and comfort with modern cloud native tech stacks to legacy mainframes and SaaS.
  • Retail Merchandising and/or Supply Chain knowledge, being an SME in Omni Item Management/ Item Master / PIM domains.
  • Deep experience of building and launching complex custom merchandising and/or supply chain product platforms for Fortune 100 companies.
  • Passion to solve challenges to create a competitive advantage in serving omni channel customers.
  • Ability to think big picture while also solving immediate challenges.
  • Demonstrable track record for innovation and producing value at the intersection of people, process, and technology.
  • Embodiment of the Agile philosophy, iterating and improving processes with purpose.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to traverse between strategic business decisions and their quantitative implications.
  • Strong oral and visual communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating in the complete spectrum of product and program management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, engineering, business, or related; Masters preferred with preference to MBA.
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in product management, management consulting or technology.
