About the position

Astera Labs is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the product definition, vision, and launch of AI semiconductor solutions for data center applications. This role involves driving interactions with engineering teams, leading customer discussions, and developing go-to-market strategies to support the company's rapid international business growth. The position requires an in-person presence at the company headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, and offers a unique opportunity to impact global operations directly.

Responsibilities

  • Execute on product development by collaborating with cross-functional teams including program management, R&D, sales, operations, and corporate development to ensure successful product launch and business growth.
  • Work with sales and operations teams to forecast and build products that meet customer needs.
  • Build close relationships with lead customers and manage cradle-to-grave product engagement and support.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and launch plan with clear market assessment, competitive analysis, and product positioning.
  • Drive marketing activities such as tradeshows, press releases, and joint papers, contributing to new and creative content generation.
  • Develop compelling sales material that promotes product value and differentiation, working closely with sales and customers to secure new business opportunities and close design-wins.
  • Contribute to market TAM/SAM analysis and use data-driven product and execution strategies to deliver revenue.
  • Maximize business impact through continuous market assessment and refine products based on new learnings while advocating for the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; preferred MBA/MS or advanced degree.
  • 10-12 years of experience in ASIC product management, product marketing, or business development in semiconductor companies.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of PCIe/Ethernet protocols, standards, and developments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership teams.
  • Detail-oriented and customer-focused with the ability to summarize complex data into a compelling narrative.
  • Authorized to work in the US and start immediately.
  • Thorough market knowledge of server, storage, cloud, and data center segments.
  • Proficient understanding of system-level architectures in the data center.
  • Basic understanding of AI training and inference and associated data movement.
  • Direct experience with customer/partner relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, initiate, and execute new collaborations with multiple customers and partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical marketing/sales/business development experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience partnering with industry ecosystem and standards organizations such as PCI-SIG, IEEE.
