About the position

The Alexa Customer Journeys team is seeking a Principal Product Manager - Technical who is passionate about integrating Generative AI into the daily lives of customers. This role is pivotal in driving the development of identity solutions that enhance customer experiences across various use cases. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and the ability to influence cross-functional teams, ensuring that the solutions developed are not only innovative but also scalable and effective. The team is dedicated to providing personalized assistance to every Alexa customer, focusing on creating a seamless blend of hardware and software experiences that are both engaging and efficient. In this role, you will be responsible for defining a clear vision and strategy amidst ambiguity, ensuring that customer scenarios are well understood and addressed. You will develop and manage mechanisms that uphold high quality while maintaining speed and scalability in product delivery. Your ability to represent the voice of the customer through thorough research will be crucial in aligning product features with customer needs. Collaboration with engineering, applied science, and UX/design teams will be essential to advance the state of the art in product development. As a horizontal product role, you will work across multiple delivery organizations, playing a central role in the delivery of a Generative AI-based service that meets high-quality standards. Your daily responsibilities will include engaging deeply with science and engineering teams, delivering requirements, and ensuring that customer satisfaction remains the ultimate measure of success. This position demands a high level of adaptability and clarity in communication, as you will be updating senior leadership on progress and navigating a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive clarity out of ambiguity and define a clear vision, strategy and requirements for customer scenarios.
  • Develop and manage mechanisms that ensure high quality at speed and scale.
  • Represent the voice of customer through external and internal research and map to customer needs.
  • Work with engineering, applied science, and UX/design to advance state of the art.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and experimentation of your products.
  • Collaborate and partner closely across Amazon to amplify personalized experiences.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience in technical product management

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
