About the position

The Alexa Customer Journeys team is seeking a Principal Product Manager - Technical who is passionate about integrating Generative AI into the daily lives of customers. This role is pivotal in driving the development of identity solutions that enhance customer experiences across various use cases. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and the ability to influence cross-functional teams, ensuring that the solutions developed are not only innovative but also scalable and effective. The team is dedicated to providing personalized assistance to every Alexa customer, focusing on creating a seamless blend of hardware and software experiences that are both engaging and efficient. In this role, you will be responsible for defining a clear vision and strategy for customer scenarios, driving clarity out of ambiguity. You will develop and manage mechanisms that ensure high quality at speed and scale, representing the voice of the customer through extensive research. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with engineering, applied science, and UX/design teams to push the boundaries of what is possible with Generative AI. Your efforts will be directed towards driving adoption, engagement, and experimentation of the products you manage, ensuring that they meet the high standards expected by customers. As a horizontal product role, you will span multiple delivery organizations within a functional product team, playing a central role in delivering a Generative AI-based service. You will engage deeply with science and engineering teams to deliver foundational technologies and customer experiences that meet a high quality bar. Your success will be measured by customer satisfaction, and you will be expected to communicate progress to senior leadership regularly. This position requires a high level of adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, where clarity and scrappiness are essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Drive clarity out of ambiguity and define a clear vision, strategy and requirements for customer scenarios.
  • Develop and manage mechanisms that ensure high quality at speed and scale.
  • Represent the voice of customer through external and internal research and map to customer needs.
  • Work with engineering, applied science, and UX/design to advance state of the art.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and experimentation of your products.
  • Collaborate and partner closely across Amazon to amplify personalized experiences.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience in technical product management

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
