About the position

The Principal Product Manager - Technical for Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) organization is responsible for leading the development and implementation of innovative product roadmaps that enhance how information is delivered and utilized by customers. This role involves strategic oversight of product usability, performance, and market delivery, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of high-quality product roadmaps based on product strategy and vision.
  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for the strategic value, usability, and performance of our products.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, scope, and time to market.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, design, and business development stakeholders to deliver products to market.
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues to help the team meet business, financial, and technical goals.
  • Manage product planning and development through day-to-day collaboration and decision making with a cross-functional team including engineers, designers, and business development partner teams.
  • Develop detailed, crisp user stories with acceptance criteria based on customer needs/experience and business requirements that can be used to create product specifications and architecture.
  • Work with UX Research to design usability and research studies to inform product requirements and influence product design and experience.
  • Define and analyze metrics that measure and benchmark product success.
  • Drive product launches including working with public relations/marketing team, customers, executives, and other team members.
  • Manage a small team of Product Managers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with end to end product delivery.
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.
  • Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements.
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement.
  • Experience with pricing strategy and go-to-market.
  • Experience developing products for enterprise customers.
  • Experience managing 1+ individual contributors.
