About the position
As a Principal Product Manager-Technical at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, roadmap, and performance of our restricted access regions. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering innovative cloud computing solutions to the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other public sector customers. You will leverage your technical background to produce concrete specifications and collaborate closely with engineering teams to drive implementation. Your responsibilities will include owning product planning, feature definition, pricing analysis, contractual compliance, capacity forecasting, and P&L optimization. You will also coordinate with Go-To-Market teams on product positioning, promotion, and sales enablement, ensuring that our offerings meet the needs of our diverse customer base. In this role, you will engage with executive leaders of customers and partners across various segments, iterating on our product vision and driving business development. You will be expected to scale your perspective from strategic vision development, interacting directly with AWS senior leadership, to tactical product development and sales execution. Your ability to creatively develop solutions and shape the vision for future customer capabilities will be crucial to your success. Responsibilities
- Own product planning in roadmap and feature definition.
- Conduct pricing analysis and ensure contractual compliance.
- Forecast capacity and optimize P&L.
- Coordinate with Go-To-Market teams on product positioning and promotion.
- Engage with executive leaders of customers and partners to iterate on product vision.
- Drive business development and sales execution.
- Shape the vision for future customer capabilities and develop strategies to achieve that vision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 8+ years of experience in technical product management.
- Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition.
- Proven experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Experience working directly with engineers on product enhancements.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, CloudFront, and SageMaker.
