About the position

The Principal Product Manager at Mercury Systems plays a crucial role in shaping the future of mission-critical high-performance rugged computer servers, data storage, and networking systems. This position serves as a bridge between customer needs and product development, advocating for both internal teams and external partners. The successful candidate will manage product lifecycles, enhance profitability of existing products, and identify new product opportunities, all while ensuring alignment with the company's mission to create a safer, more secure world.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the management of the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by input from sales, business development, and key customers.
  • Providing integral support for Sales/FAE teams in product quotation process and order acceptance to provide responsive customer support and achieve financial goals.
  • Driving solution sets across development teams through market requirements, product definition, and positioning/shaping.
  • Supporting the implementation of a company-wide go-to-market plan, collaborating with all departments to execute.
  • Analyzing and suggesting potential partner relationships for the product line.
  • Helping to define and maintain product roadmaps.
  • Working with engineering team counterparts to define product release requirements.
  • Facilitating updates to global product price list, product ordering status, product lead times, product cost analyses, and product configuration changes driven by customer requirements, obsolescence or product strategy.
  • Collaborating with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer(s).
  • Staying current with trends and issues across the product market to understand problems, opportunities, and find innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Technical / Engineering or Business/marketing-related degree.
  • 5+ years of experience required in related discipline.
  • Technical familiarity with computer systems, servers, networking and software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment due to business needs.
  • Travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and Europe (up to 25%).
  • Aerospace & Defense, or Satellite Communications SATCOM Industry experience.
  • This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance.
