About the position

Handshake is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the Employer team, reporting to the Senior Director of Product. This role focuses on scaling Handshake's SaaS offerings and enhancing the recruiting experience for employers and entry-level talent. The Principal Product Manager will oversee the product lifecycle, from strategy to development and launch, while ensuring a positive societal impact by increasing access for diverse talent in recruiting.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle for the product area.
  • Represent the squad and product area to executives, translating strategies into actionable roadmaps.
  • Inspire the team with a clear product vision.
  • Develop a cohesive and differentiated product strategy that aligns with company goals.
  • Lead a cross-functional squad through research, planning, and delivery phases.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and customer success for product launch and adoption.
  • Run beta programs and pilots to gather customer feedback and insights.
  • Work with stakeholders across the Employer team and other marketplace sides to innovate effectively.
  • Establish clear metrics and tracking from strategy through development to market iteration.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, particularly in SaaS or complex marketplace environments.
  • Strong foundation in roadmap development and product release processes.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams to ship code in collaborative settings.
  • Ability to think analytically and connect various considerations to spot challenges.
  • Extensive experience in presenting to both internal and external stakeholders, including customers and executives.
  • Working knowledge of data-driven applications and user interaction analytics.
  • User-focused approach, grounded in data and research.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in revenue-generating entrepreneurial roles.
  • Product management experience in fast-growing consumer marketplaces and SaaS businesses with over 100 employees.
  • Development of B2B products related to marketplace platforms.
