About the position

The Production Test Engineer (PTE) is a key member of the manufacturing team at Raytheon, responsible for supporting the test process throughout various phases of the product lifecycle. This role involves validating compliance of hardware to technical requirements, troubleshooting test failures, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. The PTE leads projects aimed at enhancing testing efficiency and capacity, and is involved in creating cost estimates for additional capabilities and equipment updates.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and provides accurate rework instructions for product hardware.
  • Creates and maintains spares and the test equipment obsolescence plan.
  • Develops Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs for additional capacity and new capabilities.
  • Leads projects to reduce test time and improve test processes through analysis of predictive metrics, failure modes, and test yields.
  • Develops test flows and contributes to test capacity analysis.
  • Maintains changes to the test equipment technical data package, including drawings and test instructions.
  • Assists in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair of product or test equipment.
  • Leads root cause and corrective action investigations and presents findings using fault trees and knowledge point plans.
  • Performs risk assessments and supports program risk register reviews.
  • Leads projects and is responsible for execution.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
