The Principal Program Manager will play a crucial role in the Land Rights permitting team within the Land Management organization at PG&E. This team is responsible for providing subject matter expertise for Caltrans and Railroad Permitting, handling over 6000 projects annually with various agencies. The Program Manager will oversee the acquisition of necessary permits for both PG&E and customer projects, ensuring compliance and efficiency in the permitting process. This position requires strong negotiation skills as the manager will be responsible for negotiating annual permits and processes with Rail agencies and Caltrans. Additionally, the role involves leading all aspects of the emergency response process for Land Management, particularly during Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events, which is a primary function of this position. The Program Manager will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing remote work with on-site responsibilities based on business needs. This flexibility allows for effective management of resources and stakeholder interactions, ensuring that the team is prepared for emergency response situations. The role also emphasizes the importance of developing best practices and process improvement initiatives through collaboration with stakeholders. The Program Manager will lead projects by determining scope, budget, and timeframes, while forming teams and assigning tasks to manage resources effectively. Furthermore, the manager will leverage their expertise or identify subject matter experts to support multi-functional efforts, providing recommendations and plans based on comprehensive data analysis.
