About the position

Amazon is seeking a Principal Program Manager for Transportation Operations Management (TOM) Safety to lead safety initiatives and business partnerships within the North America Surface Transportation (NAST) team. This role focuses on implementing a comprehensive safety strategy to promote safe and efficient workplace practices across the Amazon Surface Transportation Network. The Principal Program Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Legal, Training, and Tech Teams, to address safety and compliance challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety strategy and deliver solutions addressing operational safety issues across TOM.
• Build trust and confidence within Operations and other stakeholders; influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
• Create clear, concise, and consistent communications.
• Teach leaders about safety leadership through Amazon policies and standards.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of safety programs, including safety and ergonomics, while working with Operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
• 7+ years of program or project management experience
• 7+ years of managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
• Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
