About the position

The Principal Program Manager at L3Harris is responsible for directing all phases of programs from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with business and financial objectives. This role involves managing complex technical programs, driving performance indicators, and maintaining customer relationships while leading a team to achieve strategic goals in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
  • Drive program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives.
  • Assume responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical performance of programs.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, and specifications.
  • Act as primary customer contact for program activities.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps that align with customer roadmaps.
  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the program.
  • Lead competitive and sole source pursuits and proposals.
  • Manage key performance indicators of cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements.
  • Maintain an integrated master schedule and manage development and test to a technical baseline.
  • Manage program investment needs and deliver performance against cost and schedule indicators.
  • Align future program roadmap with customer direction.
  • Drive program strategy and growth plans.
  • Support capture management efforts and technology roadmap.
  • Ensure program compliance with specifications and internal policies.
  • Drive continuous improvements in operations performance.
  • Communicate actively with key stakeholders and establish strong team engagement.
  • Implement strategic goals in alignment with Business Area/Division roadmap.
  • Define long-term business strategy to expand current efforts.
  • Provide leadership in maintaining customer and subcontractor relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience; or a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in building and managing technical development teams.
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage and analyze budgets and cost controls on cost-plus and fixed-price programs.
  • Experience briefing senior leaders and customers.
  • Proposal management experience.
  • Risk management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ground processing products, software, and technology; engineering or science background.
  • Experience managing software development efforts.
  • Experience with customers within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense.
