About the position

The Principal Programmer/Full Stack Technical Lead at American Airlines is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to IT development personnel. This role involves the technical design and implementation of mid-range software development for web services and applications, utilizing the latest industry best practices in data frameworks, cloud frameworks, microservices, and software optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design scalable, secure, and robust software solutions.
• Develop back-end services with NodeJS, TypeScript, Apollo GraphQL, MongoDB, and .Net.
• Develop front-end interfaces with Angular.
• Provide technical guidance, direction, and decisions to the team developing custom web applications and services.
• Collaborate with product management, business analysts, developers, testers, and architectural teams to define strategy and requirements.
• Apply software engineering best practices to web applications and services.
• Manage multiple tasks and adapt to priority adjustments.
• Work with Application/Enterprise Architects to establish development and deployment standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in NodeJS and TypeScript.
• 5+ years' experience in MongoDB.
• 5+ years' experience in front-end development with Angular, HTML5, CSS, SASS.
• 3+ years' experience in .Net Core, Azure & Azure DevOps.
• 3+ years' experience in GraphQL.
• 2+ years' experience in Microservices.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3 years technical leadership of IT personnel.
• 2+ years' experience with HELM & Terraform.
• Airline experience.
