About the position

The Principal Programs Engineer - Nuclear at PSEG Power is responsible for overseeing and managing various engineering programs related to the Salem and Hope Creek nuclear stations. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining program documentation, and leading efforts to improve reliability and safety standards within the nuclear power sector. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to manage complex engineering programs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Primary Program Owner for the Salem Alloy 600 Management Program.
  • Manage the Salem Flux Thimble Aging Management Program.
  • Oversee the Salem Bolting Integrity Program.
  • Lead the Salem and Hope Creek Reactor Vessel Integrity Programs (P-T Limit Curves).
  • Manage the Salem and Hope Creek Metal Fatigue and Cycle Counting Programs.
  • Qualify and provide back-up program management for the Salem Steam Generator Program and Hope Creek IVVI Program.
  • Maintain Time-Limited Aging Analyses (TLAAs) for Salem and Hope Creek.
  • Act as an alternate NEIL Engineering Advisory Committee (EAC) member.
  • Manage the Salem WESTEMS® Fatigue Management software and Hope Creek FatiguePro© Fatigue Management software.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Science or Technology.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience directly related to mechanical, electrical/I&C component management, maintenance, and/or technical support.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Ability to support shift work during plant outages and emergent situations.
  • Ability to meet nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access and access industrial areas of a nuclear power.

Nice-to-haves

  • Nuclear Programs Experience - IST, ISI, Thermal Performance, Fire Protection.
  • Firm understanding of nuclear plant systems integration such as System, Program or Design Engineering, or other nuclear station functional experience.
  • Familiar with NEI 03-08 and 10-years' experience in programs engineering in the area listed in job description / responsibility above.
