About the position

The Principal Project Engineer at V2X is responsible for leading dynamic and multidisciplinary development teams within the Weapon Systems Integration (WSI) product line. This role involves overseeing all phases of the development process, providing technical leadership, and ensuring that projects meet technical requirements and cost targets. The Principal Project Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating efforts across various engineering disciplines and business functions to deliver tactical defense solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead dynamic and multidisciplinary development teams within the WSI product line.
  • Support all phases of the development process, working across disciplines to develop technical solutions.
  • Develop project plans, maintain project schedules, and drive the team to meet technical requirements and cost targets.
  • Coordinate the creation of the project backlog, write user stories, and manage releases for Agile Projects.
  • Lead and develop proposals, including coordinating engineering estimates and writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Create and maintain project plans, leading and coordinating project tailoring.
  • Coordinate the development of spend plans, staffing plans, and project schedules.
  • Lead project reviews, including project kick-offs and customer/internal reviews.
  • Monitor and measure project performance, developing Key Performance Measures (KPIs) and performing cost and schedule measurement.
  • Act as the primary project interface with supporting business functions such as supply chain, logistics, finance, and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight (8) years of related experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Systems Engineering Experience - Requirements Management, IV&V experience, and life cycle management of projects.
  • Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Ability to gain or current US Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Windows.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and scheduling practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead the resolution of tough technical challenges.
  • Experience managing traditional and Agile teams.
  • Experience creating/managing Backlogs in Azure DevOps or similar.
  • Proposal development experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
