About the position

As a Principal Project Manager at Capital One, you will lead critical and strategic business projects within the Retail Risk Chief of Staff team. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver impactful results that contribute directly to the company's bottom line. You will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing strategies, managing project scopes, timelines, and budgets, while identifying and mitigating risks. Your leadership will drive cross-functional projects and improve business processes, all while working in a dynamic environment with talented professionals.

Responsibilities

• Act as a thought leader to design, plan and implement strategies in support of the Retail Risk Chief of Staff team.
• Lead cross-functional projects supporting defined priorities, ensuring scope, timelines, and budget are met.
• Identify risks and issues, mitigating and escalating as needed, while managing complex project impacts.
• Plan, design, manage, and execute project plans through feasibility, design, planning, and implementation phases.
• Leverage problem-solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation.
• Participate and sometimes lead regular meetings with the leadership team.
• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
• Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments.
• Identify ways to improve and streamline business processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or military experience
• At least 3 years of Project Management experience

Nice-to-haves

• MBA or Masters degree
• 4+ years of Project Management experience
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
• Experience collaborating with senior leadership
• Experience working on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts
