About the position

The Principal Project Manager in the Technical Operations Project Management Office at American Airlines is responsible for managing the visioning, planning, and execution of business transformation programs related to aircraft maintenance operations. This role ensures that program goals, timelines, business objectives, and success criteria are met while collaborating with various functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates program visioning, road mapping, and execution of key activities across multiple Tech Ops functional teams.
  • Coordinates dependencies across processes and organizations.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to existing processes.
  • Quantifies and prepares program stakeholders for change.
  • Manages risk and impacts to business in adherence to company Safety Management System best practices.
  • Prepares and delivers program updates to numerous audiences and Senior Leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5+ years of direct Project Management experience or relevant experience.
  • Evidence of direct Project Management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current PMP certification.
  • Maintenance operations background/experience in one or more Technical Operations areas.
